Sights of Lisbon
Hallo ihr Lieben,
in meinem dritten und letzten Blogpost über Lissabon möchte ich euch gerne noch ein paar touristische Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt zeigen, die es auch wirklich wert sind, gesehen zu werden.
Die meisten Bauwerke finden sich zwischen dem Rossio Platz und dem Platz des Handels, unten am Fluss Tejo.
Eine Attraktion, für die man gut und gerne mal eine halbe Stunde ansteht, ist der Aufzug Santa Justa, eine Stahlkonstruktion, die einen in eines der, auf dem Berg gelegenen, Stadtviertel bringt. Man hat oben auf der Aussichtsplattform einen wunderschönen Überblick über die Stadt. Von dort lässt es sich auch viel leichter die vielen Stufen in die Stadt zurück laufen, und dabei noch etwas den Ausblick genießen. Geht aber nicht zu weit nach unten, denn das Stadtviertel Chiado liegt ebenfalls erhöht und pulsiert nur so vor Lebensfreude. Es gibt dort ein Kaufhaus, das 5 Etagen hat und aufgrund der Höhenunterschiede auf der untersten und der 4. Etage ebenerdige Ausgänge hat. Außerdem findet ihr dort oben ganz viele größere oder kleinere Pastelerías, wo ihr die, für Portugal typischen, Törtchen kaufen könnt, die sehr süß aber definitiv lecker sind.
Wieder unten im Stadtzentrum angekommen, empfehle ich euch eine kurze Busfahrt in den östlichen Teil der Stadt. Dort befindet sich ein ehemaliges Kloster, das inzwischen eine Porzellanausstellung beherbergt, das Azulejo Museum. Die Ausstellung an sich fand ich relativ unspektakulär, aber die alte Kapelle des Klosters ist definitiv einen Besuch wert. Sie ist mit mehreren 100 Tonnen Gold verkleidet und dermaßen beeindruckend, dass man im ersten Moment von dem Prunk geblendet ist. Zum Abschluss eurer Sightseeing Tour lege ich euch einen Tagesausklang am Platz des Handels ans Herz, wo ihr neben den Bewohnern Lissabons am Fluss sitzen könnt und die Sonne beobachten könnt, wie sie hinter der Brücke des 25. Aprils am Horizont unter geht.

today I want to show you the third and last post about Lisbon, where it´s all about showing you some sights that are worth visiting them. :) Most of the sights can be seen between the square Rossio and the Square of Trade, near the river Tejo.
A good sight to start is the elevator Santa Justa, where you will probably stand in line for at least half an hour, to go up the steel construction to get to the visitors platform to have a stunning view over the city, plus it brings you to one of the boroughs on the hill, where you will love to take the steps downstairs to downtown again and enjoy the view once more. But don´t go too far downstairs, there´s a beautiful, inspiring borough of Lisbon uphill, Chiado, which you will definitely love. There is a mall which has 5 floors and because of the altitude, the first and the 4th floor are each on a ground level. Awesome, isn´t it? Also in Chiado you have a lot opportunities of shopping there and you can have a break in one of the many smaller or bigger cafés, that sell typical homemade pastels, which are very sweet but still delicious.
Back in downtown Lisbon i recommend you a short bus trip to the eastern part of Lisbon, where there´s a former monastery. Today it is used as a museum for porcellaine art, called Museo do Azulejo. The exhibition itself was not my cup of tea, but you can still visit the old chapel, which was left from the monastery. It is completely lined with 100 of tons of gold, so at the first sight it really makes you be bowled over. At the end of your sightseeing trip you should take the time and sit down for a while close to the river Tejo at the Square of Trade, where you can sit next to the inhabitants of Lisbon to watch the sun set below the bridge of the 25th of april into the horizon.
