ABBY, you´re on my Mind!
Letzte Woche war ich auf einem Konzert einer relativ unbekannten Band: Abby aus Berlin. Die Jungs haben mich neugierig gemacht, als ich von ihrem Lied hörte, das genauso heißt wie ich: Evelyn.
Der Musikstil von Abby ist auf jedenfall abwechslungsreich und wird nie langweilig. Es ist eine Mischung aus Indie, Rock und Pop Musik.
Die Band besteht aus Filou (Gesang), Lorenzo (Keyboarder), Philipp (Gitarrist) und "Henne" (Schlagzeuger) .
Wo man beim Anhören mancher Lieder noch dachte, die Jungs sind relativ normal, wird spätestens beim Konzert klar, dass das nicht so ist: Philipp, der Gitarrist und Bassist, sprang fast ununterbrochen über die Bühne, schrie, machte akustische Hintergrundsounds und lief die ganze Zeit Barfuß herum (macht er anscheinend aber immer ;) ). Nach dem Konzert erzählte einer der Supporter, dass Abby das aktuelle Album Friends & Enemies komplett live eingespielt haben, und das hört man auch. Sänger Filou hat eine sehr spezielle Stimme mit einem hohen Wiedererkennungswert und auch ihre Instrumente sind ungewöhnlich, wie ihr zum Teil auf meinen Fotos sehen könnt :)
Solltet ihr noch nichts von Abby gehört haben, empfehle ich euch dringend auf ihrer Website oder ihrem Youtube Kanal ein bisschen Zeit zu verbringen.
Ich für meinen Teil jedenfalls weiß jetzt, dass ich das nächste Mal wieder in der ersten Reihe stehe, wenn Abby in meiner Stadt sind :)
Last week I went to a gig by a german band from Berlin, Abby. I got to know them when I heard about their song with the same title like my name: Evelyn.
Abby´s music style is a great mixture of rock, pop and indie music, so it´s never boring listen to them.
The band members are Filou (Vocals), Lorenzo (Keyboard), Philipp (Guitar), Henne (Drums). When you listen to the record you may sometimes think they´re kind of normal, but when you see them live on stage, you know you were wrong: Philipp was always running around, screaming and making strange backround noises and was always barefoot. ;) After the concert was over a Supporter told me, that they played live and acoustic when they made their record and you can definitely hear this on the LP, it really sounds the same. Singer Filou has a very special voice with a high Q Rating and some special instruments, as you can see on my pictures below.
